TREAT SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH DISCERNMENT

Treat the problems

The problems discussed so far were all of a rather aesthetic nature. This last series focuses on the more serious nail diseases, which require the right approach and appropriate care.

1.CUTICLES INFECTED

What is it about ?

‘A small sore at the base of the nail can easily become infected. She takes on an ugly red look and she is painful. ‘

Prevention?

Infections can be prevented by properly caring for the cuticles, moisturizing them properly with a special oil or nail pen. It is very convenient to have one in the car, it gives you something to do to wait in traffic jams. Care ingredients ensure that the cuticles are soft so they can not be irritated. I also advise to regularly push back the cuticles with a special repoussoir and a care ‘cuticle remover’. But never cut them completely! We must remove only cravings, never the entire cuticle. Cuticles have a purpose: they prevent bacteria or other harmful substances from entering the bloodstream. You can also push back the cuticles of the nails of the feet, the nail plate is then larger and the toes look nicer with varnished nails. Be especially careful not to hurt yourself or have it done by a pedicure. ‘

Remedy?
Disinfect the wound and try not to fiddle with the fiery spot. A care oil like Vitamina Cuticle Oil can relieve pleasantly. It repairs the dry and damaged skin around the nails, it has an antibacterial effect and calms inflammations.

2. INGROWN NAILS

What is it about ?

If you cut a nail too short or incorrectly, it can penetrate the skin and become incarnate. This occurs particularly to the toes and sometimes to the nails of the hands which are naturally curved.

Prevention?

‘It is relatively easy to avoid ingrown toenails: do not cut them too short. For the nails of the feet, it is important not to let the edges penetrate the skin. That’s why we always advise to cut them straight. If you notice that a nail begins to incarnate anyway, go as soon as possible to a medical manicure or pedicure (e), to limit the damage. ‘

Remedy?

‘Never try to clear an ingrown toenail yourself. Not only is it painful, but it can also have unfortunate consequences. A medical pedicure (e) has all the necessary means to help you, including special devices that lift the nails and force them to push right. It is a short and long term solution. It may also be useful to use artificial nails because natural nails will fit their shape. ‘

3. ONYCHOMYCOSIS

What is it about ?

‘People often think that mushrooms only get caught in the pool or sauna, but they are wrong. There are mushroom spores everywhere, because they are very contagious. It is true, however, that fungi prefer warm, moist environments and therefore closed shoes are a higher risk environment.

If fungi enter the fingernail or underside, the fingernail will have a yellowish-white color and pieces may come off. A ‘chalky nail’ is actually an onychomycosis, but this name is less scary. ‘

Prevention?

The reason why some are infected with fungus and others are not, depends on the functioning of the immune system. You can not change much to your sensitivity, but it is helpful to heal your feet as much as possible to prevent fungal infections on the fingernails. Change shoes regularly, especially if you sweat a lot, dry your feet thoroughly after showering, wear cotton socks instead of synthetic socks and regularly see a pedicure. Use caution also with artificial nails. If they are misplaced and a mushroom spore can get caught in an air bubble under the nail, you have a problem. Always use a professional for this type of thing. ‘

Remedy?

If you have onychomycosis, it is advisable to see your doctor, so that he can make a correct diagnosis and prescribe the appropriate drugs, which will help your body fight against fungal infections. It is very important to use the product long enough. The mycoses consist of very fine filaments and it only takes one to get the problem back in less time than it takes to say.

4. TRAUMA OF THE NAIL

What is it about ?

‘If the nail turns purple after being stuck in a door or falls completely after a hammer blow, it is a nail trauma.’

Prevention?

‘It is possible to avoid a lot of nail damage by wearing suitable shoes. An accident happened quickly during the sport especially. For this reason, keep the nails of your feet short enough so that they do not break completely if you stumble or bump into yourself. In hazardous work, it is important to wear safety shoes. If you still have an accident, make sure bacteria can not get into the damaged nail. Disinfect everything and put a bandage if necessary. If you notice that the nail is crooked afterwards, consult a medical pedicurist for advice. ‘

Remedy?

Unfortunately, a nail trauma is often permanent. The risk is great that a nail that has one day broken midway up keeps pushing wrong because its matrix has been damaged. Do not panic, however, a bright nail polish or gel nails can perfectly hide these imperfections. ‘
